Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O'Connor could be released as early as Sunday after being hospitalized Thursday with flu-like symptoms.

"What we've learned from a day of testing (and) diagnosis by (the) mayor's doctors is that the mayor has a viral condition," said mayoral spokesman Dick Skrinjar. "He will be treated with hydration and rest this weekend. He also has a duodenal ulcer. It was not bleeding. It was not cancerous."

O'Connor will be given medication for his ulcer. His doctors have also recommended rest and changes in his diet and his busy schedule.
