If you bump into a giant lion in downtown Pittsburgh this weekend, don't worry -- it's just one of the "furries."

Anthrocon -- the world's largest furry convention -- is being held this weekend at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

It's a gathering of about 2,500 people who focus on anthropomorphics -- fictional animal characters with human personalities and characteristics.

At the annual convention, enthusiasts dress up in masks and full-length animal costumes, including big, furry tails.

Channel 4 Action News anchor Sally Wiggin said their elaborate costumes can cost upwards of $1,000.

Many of them are walking around the Golden Triangle in full gear, drawing some confused looks from others on the streets.
