The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners approved a lease that will help create a protected area around the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville.

Amfire Mining will pay $120,000 for a 10-year lease for the rights to transport coal across nearby state gaming lands.

The game commission said the money will be used to purchase 300 acres of new state game lands, just north of the memorial.

The new acreage will be named State Game Land 93.
