City Council President Luke Ravenstahl on Wednesday called for an investigation into money spent by Councilwoman Twanda Carlisle.

"I believe it's my duty," Ravenstahl said.

Carlisle authorized a taxpayer funded health study years ago but has yet to make the results public.

Carlisle would not answer questions from Channel 4 Action News on Wednesday about the $28,000 that she paid her mother's boyfriend to do the study.

Last week, Carlisle told a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter that her mother's boyfriend was a medical doctor, but a search found no one licensed to practice in Pennsylvania under his name, Lee O. Johnson.

The city solicitor is asking for information about Carlisle's discretionary spending funds for the past three to four years.
