2006 PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger's newest target is in town.Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the Steelers' No. 1 draft pick from Ohio State University, was introduced at a news conference on Monday morning."It's a pleasure to be here," the 22-year-old Holmes said. Holmes jumped on board as an 11-year-old, during the team's run to Super Bowl XXX."I thought they had a better team, and I decided I'll switch out on the Cowboys for the Steelers," he said. "Since that time, I've been keeping watch of everybody who played for the Steelers."Holmes specifically mentioned former cornerback Rod Woodson as an influence. In addition to catching passes at Ohio State, Holmes returned kicks and punts -- a task at which Woodson excelled for Pittsburgh.Holmes arrived on Sunday night. Channel 4 Action News caught up with him at the baggage claim at Pittsburgh International Airport."It feels real good, getting an opportunity to visit the organization and to meet my new head coach and my general manager and hopefully see a lot of the players that I'm going to be playing with this season," he said.Holmes knows how to juggle a busy life. He's a father of three, and he helped his mother, Patricia Brown, raise his three younger brothers in high school.Because Brown woke up at 3 a.m. for work each day, Holmes made a big sacrifice growing up."He had to put them to day care, go to school, come home, do homework, see about them, then go to football practice and basketball practice," Brown said.Holmes told Channel 4 Action News that when he finds a place to live in Pittsburgh, he wants to move his mother in for a long stay.
