Dentist Found Dead In Indiana County Home

Police To Release More Information Monday

POSTED: 5:03 pm EDT April 15, 2006

Blairsville police will hold a news conference Monday afternoon on the death of Dr. John Yelenic -- the dentist whose body was found inside his home Thursday.

A young boy made the discovery after he noticed a broken window and some blood at the house.

Investigators believe the 39-year-old dentist died sometimes Wednesday night or Thursday morning because he was seen taking out his garbage on Wednesday.

The Indiana County coroner, Michael Baker, said Friday the dentist had injuries from an apparent violent struggle and ruled the death a homicide.

Baker said Yelenic bled to death.

Blairsville Police Cpl. Janelle Lydic said there is a suspect, but she would not release a name.
