A dentist was found dead in his home in Blairsville, according to the Indiana County coroner.

John Yelenic's body was found about 3:30 p.m. on South Spring Street when a young boy noticed a broken window and some blood at the house.

"There are a number of investigating agencies that are currently on scene," said coroner Mike Baker.

Authorities would be on the scene for some time, Baker said.

Investigators believe the 39-year-old dentist died sometime overnight or Thursday morning because he was seen taking out his garbage on Wednesday.

The Indiana County coroner said Friday the dentist had injuries from an apparent violent struggle and ruled his death a homicide.

"Although the coroner's office cannot release certain details of the autopsy because of the ongoing investigation, I am fully convinced of homicide in Dr. Yelenic's death," Indiana County coroner Michael Baker said.

The coroner said Yelenic bled to death. Sources close to the investigation told Channel 4 Action News his throat was cut.

Blairsville Police corporal Janelle Lydic said there is a suspect, but would not release a name.
