PITTSBURGH -- An Allegheny County judge has increased the bond from $2,000 to $10,000 straight cash for a McKeesport man accused of keeping a woman in his home for 10 years, since she was 14.The suspect, Thomas Hose, 48, remained in Allegheny County Jail after the bond hearing on Monday morning. He is charged with statutory sexual assault and three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. If Hose is able to post bail, he will have to wear an electronic monitoring device and stay away from Tanya Kach while the case progresses, the judge ruled.A second suspect in the case, hairdresser Judy Sokol, is still at large. She allegedly cut and dyed Kach's hair and helped to conceal her identity, according to a police affidavit.Kach, now 24, told police that she and Hose came up with a plan for her to leave home when she was a middle school student in 1996, according to the affidavit. After Kach moved in with Hose, he allegedly kept her in a bedroom, brainwashed her and threatened to kill her if she attempted to leave, the affidavit said.Kach, who had been using a different name, finally surfaced last week. She told the owner of a local convenience store who she really was, and the man notified police.Kach was at the courthouse on Monday with her father but was not required to testify.
