The Port Authority's North Shore Connector will be tops on the agenda when Port Authority officials sit down with the Federal Transportation Administration next week.

Both sides will be looking at the budget for the project and whether any additional federal funding is available.

PAT needs about $20 million more because of higher than expected bids.

County executive Dan Onorato said PAT shouldn't look to him for more help.

"The whole project's 80-20 -- 80 (percent) federal, about 16.7 percent state and then 3 percent locally so we're the smallest player in this. This deal only goes if the federal government agrees to continue funding it," Onorato said Friday.

The connector would extend the T from Gateway Center to the North Shore through tunnels under the Allegheny River.
