A Westmoreland County man is charged with corruption of minors for giving his son beer.

It happened at a neighbor's home at the Greenhills Trailer Park last weekend.

Police said Dwayne Davis found his 15-year-old son drunk.

To punish him, Davis said he made his son chug more beer, hoping he would get sick and then never drink again.

"After him arguing with me for a few minutes, I said, 'Go ahead, as long as you chug it' -- because I wanted to see him get sick over it so he didn't do this again," Davis said.

The boy did get sick, and state police said they found him vomiting, huddled up on the front porch in the fetal position.

"Throw his butt in the shower, sober him up. When he wakes up, I'd probably ream him out. I don't think I'd give him more alcohol to make him more drunk," said neighbor Jill Frye.

The boy had to be taken to the hospital.

His father said he stands by his decision.

Davis said to Channel 4 Action News reporter Jennifer Miele that parents need "to let their children know that this isn't a good thing that you're doing -- it might be fun at the time, but it can get you into a lot of trouble. I'm not suggesting you do this with harder materials, like drugs or heroin, or things like that."

Davis said his son is fine and that he went to school the next day.

The neighbor -- Jeremy Karasek -- is also charged with disorderly conduct and corruption of minors for allegedly providing more alcohol.
