An emergency hearing was held Monday for former Allegheny County coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht.

Wecht's defense attorneys asked for the hearing after claiming they weren't getting proper access to documents.

The judge ruled last week that both sides must split the cost of duplicating some 300,000 documents -- which adds up to about $36,000 per side.

Wecht is accused of using his public office to benefit his private consulting business.
