Duce wasn't loose, but his ice was.

According to a police report, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Duce Staley claims he lost jewelry worth about $100,000 at a South Carolina strip club early Saturday morning.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said that, according to the report, Staley scuffled with a security guard and was grabbed while trying to enter Studio 54 in Columbia, S.C.

But a source in South Carolina told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that Staley was already inside the building when everyone was forced outside by a fight, which did not involve Staley.

Once outside, Staley realized his jewelry was gone. He went to retrieve the items, which is when he got into it with security, police said.

Staley filed a police report, but he is now disputing some of the information that's circulating about the club incident.

Over the phone, Staley told WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Sheldon Ingram that he has his diamond earrings, which were originally reported as being missing. Staley said other people lost jewelry but he only lost a bracelet.

Also, Staley told Ingram that his friends were at the club to protect him, and he said neither he nor they were involved in the altercation. He said he was leaving the club when all of the trouble started.

"I didn't get involved in an altercation. That happened in the club, but that didn't involve me. I wasn't robbed, and I had my two earrings. I lost my bracelet, that's all," Staley said.

Staley said he submitted the police report for insurance purposes.

"I had to file a police report in order to have it replaced by my insurance company. I wasn't robbed and I wasn't in some altercation," said Staley.

Channel 4 Action News called the police department for clarification after Staley's comments, but did not receive a call back.

Police are still investigating. No charges have been filed.
