ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. -- Federal prosecutors are seeking information from lawyers who have hired Dr. Cyril Wecht as a private consultant.

The Feds are investigating if the Allegheny County coroner improperly used the resources of his public office in connection with his private work.

Wecht's attorney says he's been aware of about a dozen such letters since September, requesting documents from lawyers across the country who have hired Wecht privately as a consultant or expert witness.
