A verdict was handed down Wednesday in the trial of a Pittsburgh woman accused of killing her two children after setting the family dog on fire.

Tequilla Fields was found guilty on homicide charges, and could face life in prison without parole.

Fields was arrested Feb. 15, years after the deadly fire on Apple Street in Lincoln-Lemington on July 11, 1990.

Prosecutors say Fields and her friend, Lachan Russell, plotted to kill Field's grandmother's dog because one of the children was allergic to the animal.

The fire spread through the house, killing 2-year-old Montelle Thornhill and 3-year-old Charita Thornhill.

Both women confessed, but blamed each other for setting the fire.
