Pittsburgh police are digging into the background of a man who carried a gun into a Giant Eagle store.

Pittsburgh police said they arrested the man at the store that sits on the border of Shadyside and East Liberty.

Police said the man, a convicted felon, told them he found the gun outside and brought it into the store so kids wouldn't find it.

Store security stopped him.
