A memorial service was held Thursday for the families whose childrens' fetal remains were found stored in a local man's garage.

More than 300 fetuses were found in Robert Winston's McKeesport garage.

Authorities say suspended funeral director Robert Winston had a contract with Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh to have the remains cremated. Instead, they were found in boxes in the garage at his former house by his ex-wife.

The fetuses ranged from 14 weeks to full-term, and resulted from abortions, miscarriages and stillbirths.

No charges have been filed in the discovery.

Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht said the service, which featured Catholic, Protestant and Jewish clergy, was organized because his office has received many calls from women distraught over the possibility that remains of their children might be among those found in Winston's garage.

The memorial was held in the auditorium of Saint Paul's Seminary in Crafton.
