Check Your Property Tax/Rent Rebate Status Online

Pa. Revenue Dept. Web Site Has Details

UPDATED: 3:22 pm EDT May 27, 2009

Pennsylvania residents can check the status of their property tax/rent rebates on the Internet.

The state Department of Revenue has a new Web site at papropertytaxrelief.com that provides information on claim status, rebate amount and the date a rebate is expected to be direct-deposited or mailed.

Six weeks after submitting a rebate application, Pennsylvanians can visit the new Web site and click on "Where's My Property Tax/Rent Rebate?" to learn their status.

Checks will be distributed starting July 1.

The rebate program provides property tax relief and rent rebates of up to $650 to many low-income senior citizens.
