Expo Mart Drops Gun Shows After Shooting

POSTED: 11:59 am EDT July 7, 2005

An accidental shooting has prompted the Pittsburgh Expo Mart to remove gun shows from its schedule of events.

Expo Mart operators are terminating an agreement with the Pennsylvania Gun Collectors Association that allowed the group to hold several shows in the building through 2007.

Organizers of the gun show are appealing to a judge.

At a May 14 show, a patron was shot in the leg and required treatment at a hospital. No charges were filed, but the incident "injured the reputation of the building," Expo Mart operators say.
