The grand jury is looking into whether employees in the coroner's office worked for Wecht's private consulting business on county time.

Federal agents seized log books and computers during a raid of the coroner's office in April.

About six witnesses appeared at the federal courthouse in Downtown on Thursday, including Deputy Coroner Bruce Wright. He declined to comment when leaving.

Wecht has not testified before the grand jury.

Three of Wecht's senior employees recently resigned after being questioned by the FBI.
