A Washington County couple is in the hospital after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning.

David and Betty Mugrage, of Fallowfield Township, were hospitalized after being found unconscious Saturday morning inside their home on Smith Street.

Dominion Peoples Gas crews checked all the appliances inside the home and red-tagged the furnace as the source of the carbon monoxide.

Neighbors said they had a feeling something was wrong inside the house and called police, most likely saving the couples lives.

Gas crews shut off service until the leak can be repaired.
