WTAE-TV Channel 4 Action News Receives National Edward R. Murrow Award

WTAE-TV Channel 4 has received the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award for “Continuing Coverage” of the Hepatitis outbreak from the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

RTNDA has been honoring outstanding achievement in electronic journalism with the Murrow Awards since 1971. Murrow’s pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name. Murrow Award recipients demonstrate the excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the electronic news profession.

“This is an honor for the entire Channel 4 Action News Staff. Everyone on board worked tirelessly, day after day, to find answers, provide information and offer advice on a serious, health-related issue that affected our viewers. Complete, thorough coverage like this is the core of what we do,” said WTAE Channel 4 News Director Bob Longo.
