Animal Friends' annual pool party for dogs is one of Pittsburgh's favorite events--and our quickest to sell out! This year, the surf's up on Saturday, September 11 from 10am-noon when Animal Friends' Last Splash of Summer returns to Sandcastle in Homestead. Online registration will open on August 2 at www.ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org.

Each year before Sandcastle Water Park closes for the season, they open their pools to dogs for the ultimate skinny dip. Don't miss the line of Labs leaping into the deep end, the Beagles beelining for the baby pool or the furry frenzy when the pools flood with Fidos. Enjoy games, raffles, and auctions too!

Dogs must be non-aggressive, over four months of age, current on shots and wearing an identification tag. Owners must accompany their dogs at all times and keep dogs leashed while outside of the pool. The swimming fun is exclusively for the canine crowd; humans are permitted in the pool only up to their knees. Animal Friends strongly recommends that all canine guests be spayed or neutered. If your dog is “in heat,” please leave her at home and check out our low-cost spay and neuter program.

Space is limited, and this event always sells out in advance. Admission is $30 per dog (humans are free) and all proceeds benefit Animal Friends. Register online beginning August 2 at www.ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org. Call 412.847.7055 for more information.

Rethinking "Church" Where did we go wrong? How did we make it so complicated? What is church really supposed to be like? Our goal and our commitment for the Bridge Worship Gathering at Westminster Presbyterian Church is to be a relevant worship experience that celebrates the past, recognizes the present, and keeps an eye on the future. We strive to model the early church in the Book of Acts and adhere to the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. If you're looking for a place where you can connect with others, (Fellowship), grow in your understanding of the Bible (Discipleship), find a place to use the gifts God has gifted you with (Ministry), be able to serve and share your faith confidently with others (Mission), and sing praises to God with all you heart, soul and mind (Worship), then the Bridge Worship Gathering is the place for you. We're all at different places on the journey and we invite you to join in right where you are. We meet every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the gym at Westminster Church in Upper St. Clair. Look for the signs. We'll save you a seat.
