ERIE, Pa. -- Troubled boxer Paul "The Pittsburgh Kid" Spadafora says he will marry the woman he is accused of shooting after an argument at a McKees Rocks gas station.
Spadafora, 28, who's free on bond as he awaits trial for the attempted murder of Nadine Russo, 21, revealed the wedding plans Thursday.
The couple has filed for a marriage license in Erie County, where Spadafora has been training. A date for the wedding has not been set.
Spadafora said he has been alcohol-free for nearly two months since spending time at a treatment center in Maryland. He also said he is seeing a therapist.
The boxer declined to talk about Russo's shooting, which happened Oct. 26 on Island Avenue.
Police say Spadafora tried to kill Russo because he was upset that she flattened two tires while driving his Hummer.
