Imagine this: Work a half day on Friday, head to the doctor's office for a Quick Lift, spend the weekend at home, and go back to work Monday looking 10 years younger.

Several local doctors claim that the Quick Lift, a one-hour surgical procedure, can lift sagging jowls and get rid of "turkey gobbler" neck.

Channel 4 Action News anchor Wendy Bell saw a commercial on television for the procedure, so she made an appointment to watch local woman Judy Marcella have it done at The Skin Center in Mount Lebanon.

"I can't be more satisfied, and that is from my heart," Marcella told Bell. "I am very happy. I'm elated. I feel pretty again."

Marcella said she needed to take it easy at home and apply cold compresses for two days after her Quick Lift. She felt a little swollen and tight in her jaw, and she had a tough time opening her mouth for the first few days, but she felt almost no pain.

"I find that most people just want improvement," Dr. Dominic Brandy told Bell. "Most 70-year-old women don't want to look 30 or 40 years old. I think if you can make them look 55 or 60 -- and that's what this procedure can do for them -- I think most people can accept that."

A full face lift is an invasive procedure that lifts the skin over the entire face, requires a long incision and a recovery time of four weeks or longer, and costs as much as $10,000. But the Quick Lift lifts the lower region of the face and the upper neck, requires a smaller incision and a quicker recovery time, produces immediate results, and costs $4,400.

"In most cases, the majority of patients can get a 10- to 15-year improvement," Brandy said. He calls the procedure "something very conservative that doesn't give you a lot of down time."
