Licensed Deer Processors Listed OnlinePOSTED: 6:24 p.m. EST November 13, 2003 PITTSBURGH -- Pennsylvania law doesn't require deer processors to obtain a license, which means anyone can butcher the animals if they don't sell the meat.
That's why the Allegheny County Health Department started a voluntary list of licensed and inspected deer processors on its Web site, www.achd.net. But Channel 4 Action News anchor Kelly Frey reports that only four businesses have listed their names.
