'Pittsburgh Kid' Guilty Of Disorderly Conduct, Public Intox

PITTSBURGH -- Former world lightweight champion Paul Spadafora, known in boxing circles as "The Pittsburgh Kid," was found guilty Tuesday on charges stemming from a Downtown arrest.
Spadafora, of McKees Rocks, allegedly stood outside his car and urinated at the corner of Grant Street and Liberty Avenue in the early morning hours of Oct. 24, 2003. A police report said he had "slurred speech and a strong odor of alcoholic beverages about his person."
Spadafora was charged with public lewdness, but that was reduced to disorderly conduct Tuesday. A judge found him guilty of the lesser offense, as well as public intoxication, and ordered him to pay $400 and do 100 hours of community service.In a separate case, Spadafora, the ex-International Boxing Federation champion, is accused of shooting girlfriend Nadine Russo. He remains free on bond while he awaits trial on attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges.
