Kitten Dangled From Moving Car, Rescued

POSTED: 9:44 p.m. EDT October 11, 2003

A woman faces animal cruelty charges after allegedly hanging her kitten out the window of a moving car.

Tamara Jones, of Pittsburgh's East Liberty section, was pulled over by police who said they found the kitten in a stranglehold in her vehicle.

The animal was taken into protective custody by Humane Society agents and given the name Windy.

Jones allegedly told police she was pregnant and was hoping the wind would blow fleas off the kitten.

Humane agents say the kitten did not have fleas. It will eventually go up for adoption.
