Pittsburgh police said a toddler was injured after a car flipped in Arlington Thursday evening.

Police said the incident started as a traffic stop, when officers pulled over a car on Devlin Street near the entrance to Loretto Cemetery, after seeing a 17-year-old boy they had been searching for.

According to police reports, the 17-year-old was riding in the car with the 19-year-old mother of the baby. Police said when the woman got out of the driver's seat after being stopped, the teenager started driving away.

Police said the teen drove about half a block before jumping out of the car while it was still moving.

The car flipped over, with the child inside, and the 17-year-old fled. Police were still searching for him Thursday night.

The toddler suffered bumps and bruises, but did not require treatment at a hospital.
