Eat'n Park is opening a new restaurant at the Waterworks Mall, but there's more than the chain's famous Smiley cookies for fans to smile about.

The company is opening its first "green" restaurant in a building that's LEED-certified, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The building has features that reduce its environmental impact.

"Ninety-five percent of the materials for this restaurant have been sourced regionally. So one of the key things for a green building or LEED building is that you use the local resources, and that's one of the things that we've done," a company spokesman told Channel 4 Action News.

The new facility is the first LEED restaurant in the Pittsburgh area.
