A Creative and Performing Arts High School student who claims he was beaten up by three undercover Pittsburgh police officers has given a DNA sample to the FBI.

Jordan Miles said the officers beat him on Jan. 12 when he was walking to his grandmother's house late at night on Tioga Street in Homewood.

Miles said his injuries were so severe, he ended up in the hospital.

Police said they thought he was acting suspiciously and that he attacked them and tried to run when they approached him.

FBI investigators wanted the DNA to compare hair and braids found on the sidewalk near the scene of the alleged beating.

Miles' attorney said it's just one of several pieces of evidence the FBI is considering in their investigation.

All three officers are off the job with pay while the city's Office of Municipal Investigations looks into Miles' allegations.
