The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced summer construction plans will include one of Pittsburgh's busiest bridges.

The Fort Duquesne Bridge is being targeted for rehabilitation this year, meaning several detours for drivers.

PennDOT will resurface both levels of the bridge, forcing extended closings.

Transportation officials are still considering the start date for the project, but PennDOT is planning to coordinate with the Pirates for minimal impact on baseball fans.

Work on the bridge will continue through late October.

Also on PennDOT's list for 2010 is the final phase of the Parkway East from Churchill to the Turnpike and the final phase of Route 28 at Etna.
