Van Loses Control, Hits Tanker On I-79 Ramp

Accident Reported Near Laboratory Off-Ramp

A van went out of control, striking the back of a tanker truck on Interstate 79 in Washington County on Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened on I-79 south in South Strabane Township, near the Laboratory off-ramp.

The van flipped onto its side, forcing crews to cut the trapped driver from the vehicle.

The driver was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition has not been released.

No additional injuries have been reported.

Traffic was restricted in the area.
