A 33-year-old man died Thursday morning following a crash in Wayne Township, Lawrence County.

Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on State Route 65 toward Ellwood City just before midnight on Wednesday.

When he attempted to go around a left-handed curve, troopers said he lost control, sheared a utility pole and hit an embankment before crossing over both lanes.

According to reports, the 2003 Oldsmobile Alero he was driving rolled over several times before finally coming to a stop in a field, upright, several feet from the roadway.

Police said Joseph Aegan, of Ellwood City, was killed in the crash.
