On Jan. 12, a Creative And Performing Arts High School student was involved in an altercation with police in Homewood.

Jordan Miles said the three plainclothes officers targeted and beat him because they thought he was a troublemaker.

The officers said Miles was acting suspiciously and refused to listen to their directions.

A judge dismissed charges the 18-year-old was facing in connection with the incident last week.

Officers Richard Ewing, Michael Saldutte and David Sisak have been placed on paid suspension while the matter is investigated.

On Saturday, some local police officers made a statement of support for the officers involved in the case at the city's Saint Patrick's Day Parade.

Some members of the Fraternal Order of Police wore T-shirts bearing the number 35-99.

The numbers represent the three officers' car number on the night of the controversial arrest.

Words of support lined the back of the shirt.

Police Chief Nate Harper, who has not commented on the case because it's still under investigation, said he has no problem with the shirts. Harper said the shirts are part of the officers' right to freedom of speech.
