A New York woman was arrested in Plum Borough on Friday, charged with possessing more than 540 pounds of marijuana in a drug trafficking organization spanning two countries.

Police said Tameicina Lynn Johnson, 38, surrendered to authorities on Friday morning.

"Well, I'd say this is about $2.7 million worth, so I'd say that's a lot of marijuana. That's about as much as I've seen in a while, so that's a big time seizure," said Plum Borough Police Chief Frank Monaco.

Police said that a hub in Plum Borough was being used as a distribution center to transport marijuana from Mexico to multiple states, including Ohio, Delaware, Connecticut and New York.
