A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Honduran man whose body was discovered near railroad tracks in Canonsburg, Washington County last month.

Channel 4 Action News was there as police escorted Samuel Juarez Cruz, 25, into the Canonsburg Police Department Tuesday night for the murder of Jose Alex Medina, 26.

Police said Cruz held Medina while the other suspect, Jose Alberto Luciano-Herrera, 32, stabbed him multiple times.

Luciano-Herrera was arrested last week and charged with homicide while Cruz was labeled a person of interest.

Police said they were originally looking for a man named Santiago Herrara, but new evidence was uncovered through talking to different people and they discovered Cruz gave them a false name.

Investigators said they believe Cruz helped Luciano-Herrera kill Medina.

"He admitted to taking part in the assault by holding the deceased as Luciano stabbed him," said Det. Alexander Coghill of the Canonsburg Police Department.

Cruz is now facing criminal homicide charges.

On Feb. 28, Medina's body was found by a man who was walking with his young grandson off Youngstown Street, according to police.

Medina was living in suburban Pittsburgh to support his wife and two children living in Central America.
