BETHEL PARK, Pa. -- The man police said acted as a serial thief in Bethel Park has been arrested again after officers said he re-stole items they were trying to return to businesses following a previous crime spree.Police identified 31-year-old Andrew McQuison in surveillance video they reviewed after a burglary at an electrical contractor in Bethel Park on Monday.Police said they found the stolen items in his home, plus a jackhammer they think he re-stole from PennDOT.Earlier this month, McQuiston was caught with what police said were tools from a construction site.Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment that had been stolen from homes and businesses -- and even UPMC Presbyterian and Children's Hospital -- was recovered when police arrested McQuiston the first time.Officers told Channel 4 Action News reporter Marcie Cipriani that they needed a 53-foot trailer to haul away the equipment.Police said the McQuiston was carrying tools out of a townhouse that was under construction when they caught him. They said that, in turn, helped them crack a construction site crime spree that had been going on for some time."We're not exactly sure how far back this spree began," Bethel Park Police Chief John Mackey said. "It could be several months. It might even be a couple years."Police showed off some of the construction tools that they said were found inside McQuiston's home after his arrest. They also saw a sign with his name on it, and they think he may have been posing as a legitimate contractor when he pulled up to construction sites in the middle of the night and loaded up equipment."It's kind of hard to believe, with some of the items, that a person could act alone," Mackey said. "They're extremely heavy, and that would be very difficult, if not impossible, for some of these items to be moved by a single person."McQuiston is charged with receiving stolen property. Police said they're looking to charge more people, but their first goal is to find the owners of the equipment. He is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail on a $10,000 bond.Anyone who thinks they may be victims in this case should call the Bethel Park Police Department at 412-831-6800
