Pittsburgh Catholic Charities opened the Susan Zubik Welcome Center Tuesday, to serve community members in need.

Bishop David Zubik, of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, was there to dedicate and bless the new center that was named in honor of his late mother, Susan.

“My mother taught me to be welcoming to God, and other people now have access to this tribute to her kindness and her goodness,” said Bishop David Zubik.

The Susan Zubik Welcome Center has a large reception area, a play area for children, a computer classroom and meeting rooms for training and job searches.

Catholic Charities has been a part of the Pittsburgh nonprofit fabric for almost 100 years.
