H1N1 Flu Shots Available Saturdays In Pa.

Swine Flu Vaccine Will Be Offered At 60 Locations

UPDATED: 2:46 pm EST January 22, 2010

Pennsylvanians can get vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus at any of the 60 state health centers.

No appointments are required for the vaccinations, which will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Feb. 6.

Pennsylvania residents can find more information at www.H1N1inPA.com or call 877-PA-HEALTH.

For quicker movement through the clinics, health officials recommend that people download the vaccination consent form in advance at the state Department of Health's Web site and bring the completed form to their vaccine clinic.

The health department said that the vaccine will be offered to anyone who wants it, but the highest-risk people in priority groups are urged to get it, including:

  • Children as young as six months, and young adults up to 24 years
  • Parents, household members and caregivers of children younger than six months
  • Pregnant women
  • Health care providers and emergency medical services personnel
  • People under age 65 with underlying health conditions

Separate from the state's health department, the Allegheny County Health Department holds its own H1N1 flu vaccination clinics. Call 412-578-8062 or go to www.achd.net for more details.

As more swine flu vaccine becomes available, the state Department of Health and the Allegheny County Health Department said they will schedule more clinics.
