A 10-year-old boy was shot in the leg on a Westmoreland County street Friday afternoon.

A relative told Channel 4 Action News’ Jon Greiner that the shooting happened while the boy was on his skateboard near Third Avenue and 14th Street in Arnold.

The same relative told Greiner other adolescents told the boy to get off the street before firing at him.

The victim has been identified as Tori Wilson Jr., a quarterback on a local youth football team.

A witness told Greiner she heard four shots before a pause followed by six more shots.

Greiner reported that the boy was wounded in the thigh and flown to Allegheny General Hospital.

His condition was not believed to be life-threatening, but his relative told Greiner he will need to undergo surgery to insert a rod in his thigh.

Greiner reported police believed the shooter may have fled inside a house and a tactical team set off flashbang grenades inside.

Three pit bulls were found inside, but no people.

Neighbors told Greiner there’s always activity around the house, with people coming and going.

No arrests have been made.
