2009 RICHLAND, Pa. -- Police in Allegheny County are searching for three men who allegedly broke into a Richland Township home and stabbed a man during a home invasion.According to county emergency dispatchers, three men armed with a shotgun went to a home in the 5900 block of Heckert Road on Friday afternoon.During the home invasion, one of two men inside the home was stabbed.“One of the residents was struck in the head with a shotgun and one of the residents was stabbed in the stomach area with a broken bottle,” said Northern Regional Police Chief Bob Amann. “We do not know the reason at this time why these two individuals were picked out.”Police said the men were driving a dark colored, possibly green Jeep Cherokee with chrome wheels.Police initially thought the assailants fled on foot, prompting to nearby schools to be placed on lockdown.Police have not released the names or conditions of the victims.
