2009 SALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Saltsburg man died after the car he was driving ran off a Westmoreland County road into a creek bed.According to state police reports, Stanley Deren, 56, was driving west on Route 286 in Salem Township shortly before 6 a.m.Police said for some reason Deren took evasive action, causing his car to start sliding in his lane. The car left the roadway and ran through a yard for nearly 150 feet before dropping into a creek bed and striking an embankment.State police and Bell Township and Avonmore emergency crews responded to the accident.Police said Deren, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
