Channel 4 Action News reported that the incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. inside the sandwich shop’s Strip District location on 18th Street.

Two customers started the altercation when they became upset over how their food was handled, police said.

When the restaurant employee asked the men to leave, one of them hurled a stool at him, according to reports.

Police said the employee suffered cuts to his head and neck and went to UPMC Mercy hospital for evaluation. He returned later and went back to work.

Police identified three suspects as Trey Schafer, 22, of the North Side, Andre Fletcher, 32, of Garfield, and William Deluca, 24, of Verona, and said they're charged with aggravated assault, robbery, criminal conspiracy and mischief.

Employees declined to talk with Channel 4 Action News on Thursday about the fight.
