WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- A 26-year-old Greene County man is apparently one of the area's latest victims of the H1N1 flu virus.

Greene County Man Believed To Have Died From H1N1Channel 4 Action News' Shannon Perrine reported that the mother of Kevin Brown said the Waynesburg man had a cough when he got on a plane to go to New Mexico for a construction job. The illness grew worse and Brown died on Nov. 9.
The Observer-Reporter in Washington, Pa., reported on Wednesday that Brown had swine flu. That has yet to be confirmed by the state Department of Health.
News of Brown's death came on the same day that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared another 7.5 million doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine.
WTAE Channel 4's Shannon Perrine reported that western Pennsylvania may see some of that vaccine in a month, even though the peak of local swine flu cases has been reached.

FDA Approves New H1N1 Vaccine"Since the third week in October, it's been going back down, and we're pretty much where we were in the summer," said Dr. Ron Voorhees, of the Allegheny County Health Department.
A normal season of the regular seasonal flu usually kills about 144 people in Allegheny County, while the swine flu has taken four lives in the county so far.
"The fact that we've only had four deaths from H1N1 is actually very reassuring," Voorhees said. "It's certainly a tragedy for families that have lost someone, and we'd always like to avoid early deaths from any cause."
