NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. -- A mother and her two teenage children managed to escape the fire that destroyed their home in North Versailles early Friday morning.
Emergency dispatchers told Channel 4 Action News that fire crews were called to the scene on Overhill Road at about 1:30 a.m.
Firefighters tried to fight the fire from inside the home but stopped when they realized the roof was going to collapse.
After the roof collapsed, firefighters knocked down the flames from the exterior of the home.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is working to learn the cause of the fire.
