Police Say Driver Died After Colliding With Animal On Route 31

The driver of a motorcycle died after colliding with a deer on Route 31 in Somerset County on Sunday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police said 50-year-old Robert Laskowski was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson near Wills Church Road when a deer ran across the street and hit his motorcycle around 4:30 p.m.

The bike fell to the right and slid into a ditch on the side of the road, police said.

Laskowski was airlifted to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
