Main Street was closed in Sharpsburg on Tuesday morning while Allegheny County homicide detectives investigated the stabbing of a woman in Sharpsburg.

The stabbing happened around 1:30 a.m. at a home along the 1300 bock of Main Street, police said.

Police told Channel 4 Action News' Ari Hait 28-year-old Deloris Johnson was stabbed twice with a steak knife.

According to police reports, Johnson and 34-year-old Tiffany Pearson live together in Lawrenceville. Investigators told Hait that the pair had a fight, and Johnson went to a friend's home in Sharpsburg for help.

Officers told Hait that Pearson followed the victim to Sharpsburg, where they got into another altercation and Pearson stabbed Johnson.

Johnson was able to get into the street, where she was found by a passing firefighter, who alerted authorities.

"She told them she had been in an altercation with her estranged roommate. She sustained a stab wound to the back and a stab wound to the arm," said Chief Leo Rudzki of the Sharpsburg police.

Officers said when they investigated further; they saw signs of a struggle inside the house.

"A fight ensued in the residence because the furniture turned over, broken pictures, stuff like that. It came outside, ended up outside where she was stabbed," Rudzki said.

Johnson's condition has not been released, but Hait reported the woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police arrested Pearson and she is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.

She faces several charges, including attempted homicide.

Court records reveal this is not Pearson's first run-in with the law. Pearson was arrested twice in the past three years, both times on charges of stalking. The records do not say who she was allegedly stalking.

The incident remains under investigation.
