Tony's Cafe in Carnegie was shut down by the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office on Thursday afternoon, following a drug investigation.

Property inside the bar at 307 W. Main St. was seized by the state bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

Carnegie police said they have been investigating the business for two months, along with the LCE and the District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (DANET).

Undercover officers went into Tony's while the bar was open and bought Oxycodone from bartender Mickel Ballard on two separate occasions in September, according to police Chief Jeffrey Harbin.

Police said Ballard, 39, of Carnegie, surrendered Monday on charges of possession, delivery and possession with intent to deliver. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12.

After the LCE was notified of the drug buy, it conducted its own investigation and found that the bar did not have a current license to operate.
