The Pittsburgh Police Bureau's commercial vehicle enforcement unit pulled buses over along Racetrack Road and conducted the inspections with state police troopers.

"We want to make sure the motoring public is safe, especially vehicles carrying numbers of passengers," state police Cpl. Warren Curry said. "We don't want to inconvenience the passengers. We're letting them get off at the casino before we conduct the full inspection."

Police haven't said whether any buses failed the safety inspections, and if so, which kinds of violations were cited.
