PITTSBURGH -- The Plum Pan Asian restaurant in Pittsburgh's East Liberty community got an unwelcome visitor on Sunday.
Surveillance video shows a van smashing through the front of Plum early Sunday morning on Penn Circle South.
Watch The Video "My first thought was 'Was anybody hurt?' because it looked like a war zone out front, and the cops assured me that no one was, and from that point we just started to clean," said Jason Kirsch, of Plum.
The restaurant is closed because of the crash but could reopen by Friday.
Glass and drywall were still scattered on the floor as clean-up efforts continued Monday morning.
"It's pretty major damage," contractor James Palumbo said. "The private dining area -- the walls are going to have to be removed, the partition panels, which are pretty expensive items. It was a pretty good whack to the front of the building."
The restaurant's owners said police told them the driver was impaired and was taken into custody. Police have not released the driver's identity.
